Boxing Clever Records began in 2013 as an agency passion project, and evolved into an ongoing label for local and national acts. One of the first releases was a split 7" record for Superfun Yeah Yeah Rocketship and The Vanilla Beans. The design for the screen printed record sleeve was meant to invoke the the look of a high school notebook, covered in random doodles. Each cover was individually ripped by hand, to reveal the "page" underneath, allowing each artist to get equal billing on the front. To help support the release, a limited-edition skateboard was also produced, which carried on the whimsical notebook sketch aesthetic of the record. A two-color screen printed poster was also made for the record release show, and handed out to all who purchases a ticket or bought the record.
